Start Selling Products on Facebook Today!
Do you sell your products online? Of course you’re promoting your business on Facebook in hopes that people buy your products? Perhaps you’ve hired a social media manager to promote your products for you. Just posting about your products isn’t going to cut it for much longer. Likes aren’t dollars and conversions mean a lot more to us.
Any business that is willing to sell online has a tremendous resource right at their disposal to get potential customers to the checkout line immediately and yet we rarely see anyone using it correctly or at all. It’s your Facebook Shop!
Implementing your Facebook Shop allows your customers to browse and buy your products right on your Facebook page. Users can either “check out” or “add to cart” right on your Facebook shop page without even leaving the app! Alternatively, you can drive them to complete their purchase on your own website, but again you better have a good landing page that converts.
OK. You’re in? Here are your options.
There are two methods to choose from to accept payments in your Facebook Shop. First is directly processing the payments through your Facebook page and the other involves redirecting customers to another website, like your online store. Having your customers check out on Facebook is far more convenient for your customers, that’s what we recommend.
Next, make sure you have your business information handy, and at the moment payments are accepted through Stripe, PayPal and Shopify. Just an FYI, there are some fees involved with any of the payment processing companies but usually they’re minimal. If you’re already processing payments with one of these then all you will need is your account information. If you don’t then you’ll need to create an account. Compare them all to see which works best for you.
Once that’s all done, we’re ready to get your products listed online!
Let’s get some stuff listed!
Now for easy part, get some great photos of your products, their prices, good descriptions and the URL you would like people to check out on (if you’re not using payment processing.) Make sure that you follow the Facebook Guidelines to get the best results from your shop. Also, if your images meet the guidelines now then you won’t need to worry about reworking them if you decide to run paid advertisements.
Now that you’ve got a few products or categories listed here is where your shop can get really interesting. Any time you post a photo to your timeline you will be able to tag your products from the Facebook shop in your post. This is a great way to bring awareness of your shop and do some solid product tie-ins with your photos.
Facebook Shop. It’s a Win-Win!
I’m sure that any small business owner would jump at the opportunity to get their products in front of more potential customers AND make buying their products easier for them to buy. Using your Facebook Shop is a win-win if you take the time to promote your products alongside your day to day posts.
